Glorious Bahulavan

Bahulavan is named after one of the twelve forests in Krishna's Vrindaban lila. It was the home of the presiding deities of New Vrindavan, Sri Sri Radha Vrindaban Candra, from 1972 to 1983.

ISKCON Founder Acharya Srila Prabhupada visited Bahulavan three times -- in 1972, 1974 and 1976. During His visit in the year 1972, Srila Prabhupada gave a detailed presentation on Bhagavat Philosophy at Bahulavan. Also, Srila Prabhupada personally initiated around 200 disciples here.

Maintaining its glory, Bahulavan hosted the first Janmastami celebrations in the early ISKCON history which was the first of many grand celebrations in the entire ISKCON movement. It was also the first farm community and organic gardens in ISKCON where the first successful cow protection programs in the United States was launched.
